Mission

Our primary objective is to promote sculpture, thus providing our members with the opportunity to exhibit their work to the wider public. We encourage participation in group exhibitions in Oxfordshire and beyond. This provides a unique selling opportunity in appropriate settings. For enquiries relating to specific member's works, please use the contact details provided on individual Artist's Pages.

We promote both indoor and outdoor subjects of an extensive range of media. We encourage members to freely share their experiences and skills. We discuss solutions to technical problems and thus provide an integrated approach to all sculptural subjects, and an ongoing development of skills.

Members

Members mostly work from their own studios. A number of them are also members of several other groups across the UK.  The Oxford Sculptors meet together for a lunch and informal review at least once a year, at which policies and exhibition plans are discussed, and decisions agreed by majority vote.

Members are always willing to share their experiences, techniques and sources of material which ensures a friendly and interactive group.  All our events and exhibitions are run by volunteers and everyone is encouraged to help.

Key positions are managed by members, who normally try to rotate their responsibilities every 3 years.

Primarily all communications are conducted via email in order to minimize costs and improve efficiency.

Applications from prospective new members are always welcome - see the New Members Information page.

For more information about individual current members, see the Artist's Pages.

Sculptures created

The range of sculpture created by our artists covers the whole style spectrum from portraiture figurative through to abstract.

Materials are diverse and include bronze, stainless steel, marble, stone and composites including resins compounds. For more detailed information, please see the Owning Sculpture page.

In addition, we have wood and stone carvers, ceramicists, metalworkers and artists working in other media.

The suitability of each material and it’s location can be further discussed with the relevant artist.

Most members have work for sale, and individual enquiries can be directed to each member via the contact details on their own page.
