Marie Boyle
Artists >>>
For Marie Boyle, the goal is to capture the beauty of dynamism in eternal splendour. Bronze allows her to lend permanence to the most fragile moments in time. Marie takes constant inspiration from the juxtaposition of the medium and subject; weight and levity, stillness and kinesis, symbolism and performance.
Although late to sculpture, and self-taught, Marie has a portfolio of larger pieces with international interest. Collectors in Dubai, Argentina, South Africa, Nigeria, Ireland, the USA and UK, are testament to the work’s universal resonance. Along with showcasing her life-size pieces at Heathrow Airport for the best part of a decade, Marie doesn’t hesitate to collaborate with emerging exhibitors and galleries and enjoys a fruitful history of commissions from institutions and individuals.
Marie Boyle comes from Dublin but has spent the last three decades in the UK. She apprenticed under the late Dorothy Arthur and credits her tutelage as invaluable. She typically works in clay, casting in both bronze and resin, but is increasingly curious and excited to explore other media.
