Mike Bigland

I studied sculpture with David Howorth in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, for over 2 years, after retiring from a 32-year career in engineering design and manufacture.
I have also studied wax modelling, moulding and casting at West Dean College.

Initially my sculptures focused on the ethnic variation in both portrait and form.

My latest work is in stainless steel and explores the essential elements of plant forms.
All this work is designed for display within the garden environment, however, it can also be appropriate indoors.

I have studied jewellery design and manufacture for 3 years at the Birmingham School of Jewellery.
Working across these disciplines is very stimulating and encourages cross-fertilization of ideas.

Sculpture works are for sale, possibly including those illustrated here. Please get in touch with the artist using the contact details below, for further information.
