Lindsay Waring

Lindsay is mostly self-taught and has had the privilege of working alongside a variety of talented and successful sculptors that have influenced her ethos on the sculpting process tremendously.

She enjoys experimenting with a mixture of media and is currently working with wire.  This medium has properties that excite and ignite her creative ideas. It is a beautiful material to use for sculpture as it looks different with the seasons, winter being the most striking.  Indoor wire pieces cast the most fascinating shadows, as if a 2D sketch.

She captures movement in her animal work whilst encapsulating the subject's character and true essence.  Her ultimate goal is to keep true to the characteristics of the material, striving to create fluidity and life in each piece.

Her human forms portray emotion with a contemporary flavour.  Often starting with a shape that she feels is interesting, the emotion suggests itself as the piece develops.  Each piece is a journey in itself.

Most of her work comes from commissions but she has exhibited at the following exhibitions and galleries:
Old Timbers Studio - Stewkley - 2009
Bucks Open Studios - 2010
Aim Gallery - Milton Keynes - 2010
Stani Gallery – Stony Stratford - 2010-2011
Bucks Open Studios - 2011
Claydon House - Buckinghamshire - 2011
Rudolf Steiner School - Kings Langley - 2011
Kingham Lodge - Chipping Norton - 2012
Bucks Open Studios - 2012
