Dawn Benson
Dawn was born in Canada and moved to England as a small child. Dawn exhibits in exhibitions and galleries around the UK as well as Internationally and has work in collections around the world. Sensitively portrayed stylised figurative sculptures, most of which are based on relationships. Horses and children and parents with children, are produced primarily in bronze. Much of her inspiration is drawn from her own experiences, relationships and feelings.
‘There is a myriad of feelings and emotions depicting relationships that I wish to explore, both dependant and inter-dependant, I feel I have a lifetime full of creative ideas to work from’. ‘I also produce works to commission’.
Dawn creates a wide variety of works, and often the style is led by the concept. She has been working on a series of ‘horse and child’ pieces for some years. ‘I also like to work with texture and some of the work is more organic in quality’. ‘It is important that the viewer explores for him/herself what the meaning is and how it relates to them’.
Initially Dawn works on a small scale but the work can be scaled up to produce much larger pieces for outside.
Commissions taken.
