Myra Murby

I enjoy observing and sculpting both people and animals. Figurative work is often sculpted in clay from life then transformed into the finished pieces which often feature fabric effects and different tones when the bronze is patinated. I am also fascinated by animals and their interaction and there is often an intended quirkiness about my work.

Some pieces are fired, most are moulded and cast in bronze resin, and they are usually suitable for display indoors or out.

Before taking up sculpture five years ago I studied silversmithing, fabric design and printing and since then I have been taught classical sculpture techniques by Val Adamson. I have been exhibiting successfully since 2015 and am unexpectedly following in my father's footsteps.
