Carol Bryant

Carol Bryant takes her inspiration from African wildlife - mostly the big predators.

Her work includes cheetah, leopard, lion, buffalo and also the African wild dog (also known as the painted wolf). She studied these animals extensively in the wild in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa and Namibia, and in captivity at conservation centres in South Africa and Namibia.

She has worked as a volunteer with cheetah and wild dog at the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre - De Wildt - near Pretoria, South Africa.

Carol is currently working on portrait heads of the Big 5: Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo.

She started her studies at Sunningwell School of Art in Oxfordshire, and later with Rosamund de Tracy Kelly ARBS at her studio in Chesterton, Oxfordshire.

She was mentored by Luke Shepherd for her portrait bust of Archbishop Desmond Tutu which she undertook for the Archbishop personally.

Now living in the New Forest, she is working towards an exhibition at her studio in 2022.
